Our memorable trip to Los Angeles!!

Bryce and I went to Los Angeles, California last week. We were there for just over 1 day. It was a rather short trip, but it was nice to get away with just the two of us. We haven't had a trip alone since our honeymoon.

We landed in L.A. at 6 pm and by the time we got our rental car and got checked into our hotel I think it was about 8 pm. Our first night we had to stay in this dump of a motel because the hot water at the motel that was booked for us didn't work, I think it was the boiler or something. It reminded me of one of those motels in the movies that they stay in, and they are worried that they are going to get caught for some reason or another. It made me wonder like in the movies if the mirrors were really mirrors, and if there was a whole in the wall were someone was watching. It was very first class!! The second night we were able to get back to the hotel that we were booked in, it was much better and Bryce's feed didn't hang off the end of the bed at this hotel!
This was the first hotel that we had to stay in. When was the last time you stayed in a motel that you actually had a real key to open the door?

Our last night was much better! This hotel did not stink either. That was a real improvement.

The weather the following day was about 70°-75° and very nice. Bryce was in shorts and a t-shirt, and I was in pants and a jacket because there was a slight breeze. All in all the weather was really nice compared to home. That day we went to the Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Blvd, and to the Los Angeles temple.

The first place we went that day was to Santa Monica Boulevard. We were going to go shopping there. I was wanting to go to like a outlet or something that was cheaper priced. But we didn't find any of that the short time we were there. So we walked around and found the Santa Monica Pier. At the beach we took a few pictures in the sand, after I saw someone elses name in the sand I told Bryce that we should write the kid's names in the sand and take a picture. Instead Bryce wrote our names in the sand. The ocean was a little cold, there was one guy riding the waves on the shore, but he was in a wet suit. We played on the beach for a while until we decided to go to Hollywood Boulevard.

(left: Bryce wearing a visor that he saw at one of the shops on the Santa Monica Pier. We probably would have got it if it wouldn't have been $30.00.
right: Bryce and I on the Santa Monica Pier, I know Bryce has a red dot on his forehead but it is the only picture of us together on the whole trip.)
Bryce wrote our names in the sand:)

At Hollywood Boulevard we saw a few of the stars. Bryce laughed at me that of all the stars I took a picture of Kermit the Frogs. We really didn't have a lot of time to walk down Hollywood Blvd. though. On our walk there were people dressed up in costumes and they wanted you to take your picture with them, then after the picture was taken they asked for a tip. So Bryce and I ended up getting our picture with Elmo! We found a shop that had t-shirts 3 for $10 for the kids. So I got them another shirt. After that we decided we should get going so we could make it to dinner and a session at the L.A. Temple.
Bryce and I got our picture taken with Elmo on Hollywood Blvd. Here is my picture of Kermit the Frog's star!

The L.A. temple was decorated with Christmas lights and was very pretty. There was a nativity that the donkey looked so real, you could see every hair line on it. It was very pretty. It was strange to see the palm trees decorated with Christmas lights. There wasn't very many pine trees around. Bryce and I attended a session at the L.A. temple. When we were sitting waiting for the session to start, one of the temple workers came by and made the comment that "it was going to be a big session". There was I think 8 women at that time. To me it seemed like a small session compared to the Idaho Falls Temple. I had a really nice time at the temple.

The Temple grounds were very pretty and the pictures just don't do justice as being there in person.

The following morning we had to get up at 3 am so we could get showered and return our rental car, and then get shuttled to the airport. It made for a long day and I was trying so hard to not fall asleep on the way home from Utah so I could keep Bryce company because I was sure that he too was probably as tired as I was.

It was nice to be where it was warm but it just didn't feel like Christmas without snow.

Logan exceeds my expectations

Logan seems to be doing fine. After the surgery he felt a little yucky. I'm guessing it was because of the anesthetics. But we came home and he watch a few movies and then he decided it would like to play guitar hero. So Logan and I played for a while until I had to go meet Bryce at his work. After we got home Logan and Bryce played for a while. I is saying it is hurting a little bit. But it doesn't seem like it is effecting him much.

First Entry

Well I am finally starting my first entry. It has taken me a while to get this all set up, and now I am ready. Today is Monday and I decided I better get it all going. Tomorrow Logan has to go into the periodontist (a gum dentist) to get a gum graft done on his gums. I have decided that I am just like my mom. I am making Logan get this done over Thanksgiving break, and my mom made me get my wisdom teeth taken out over Christmas break. I thought it was horrible because I didn't even get to miss any school. And now I don't want Logan to have to miss any school, plus he has to have only soft foods for 7 days. The procedure is only suppose to take 30 minutes. I'm guessing that is after they get him numb and everything. So far all of his adult teeth grow in behind his baby teeth and Logan is not getting them out soon enough. And October 2nd he had to go get 6 teeth extracted. We were hoping this might help prevent braces. We will have to wait and see. He did pretty good with that. Poor kid!!

Everything else around here is going good. We are getting ready for Thanksgiving, going to be going over to my sisters house. Halloween came and went and now Thanksgiving has crept in on us. That means that Christmas is just around the corner. Which is exciting for the kids. They keep talking about what they want for Christmas. Not quite sure what to get them, it seems like they have more toys than they know what to do with them.

The kids are growing too fast. Conner will be 5 in February, and in September Logan will turn 8. That means he will be getting baptised next year. It goes by too fast. And Emily will be 2 in March. Time flies when you are having fun right?
