Emily's 2nd Birthday

Emily's 2nd Birthday
In March Emily turned 2. Wow, I can't believe it has already been two years. My baby is getting too big too fast! Emily's birthday is the day before my sisters, and four days before my Grandpa Wells' birthday. So we combined and celebrated them all in one day. It was really nice having the family together to just visit. I don't think we do it often enough since Mom's been gone.

Emily got a toy baby bottle for her birthday that she really likes feeding her baby's. And you could ask Conner how it feels if Emily hits him on the head with the baby bottle.

Emily was getting the hang out of getting the gifts out of the bag.

My sister made Emily a tu-tu for her birthday.

Oh and we got Conner to wear it too. I told him that he had to hold his hands up over his head so that I could untie it!!!! Blackmail!!!!

Family Pictures

In February we went and had family pictures taken, well I ended up buying the cd with the copyright images. I figured that since we haven't had family pictures taken since Logan was a baby (7 years ago), they were long overdue!!! If I would have thought that I would have bought the cd, I would have made them take more poses of the kids.

Our family picture. I think it turned out pretty good.

I love this one. Emily was doing her little Ta-Da!

Conner on the rocking horse

Emily was so good. I think she almost did better than the boys!

Logan was pretty good taking pictures.

Birthday Boy

Conner's 5th Birthday Party

Conner turned 5 years old February 21. For Conner's birthday we had family come over for cake and ice cream. On Saturday we had Bryce's family over, and Sunday we had my side of the family over.

Conner got $5.00 from Grandma & Grandpa Durrant, $5.00 because he is 5 years old

Conner likes to pick on Great Grandpa Wells, just as much as Grandpa likes to pick on him!!

Sledding on Conner's Birthday

Conner turned 5 in February. Wow where does the time go? He is going to start kindergarten next school year. On Conner's birthday our church had a sledding party at the church farms. So we took our kids. They had a blast. While everyone was eating I went up to the Bishop and told him it was Conner's birthday so he could initiated everyone singing Happy Birthday to Conner, well I guess Conner thought that he need to sing to himself too!! It was too cute.

Conner and Colton they did not have a ounce of fear.

Mom and Emily. She had the most fun drinking hot chocolate. She was covered in it.

Conner, Bryce, Emily, and Logan. Getting ready to go down the first time. Emily does not look like she is having fun!

Thanksgiving

The night before Thanksgiving I decided to call my Grandma Wells to see what she was doing for Thanksgiving Dinner, I was surprised to find out that Grandma and Grandpa were just going to go out to eat. So I told her that Her and Grandpa were more than welcome to go to Camille's house with us. I gave her the excuse that I also needed to give her pictures of the kids that I had taken. Grandma called me back on Thanksgiving and told me that they were going to come. I was pretty excited, I really didn't want them to have to go out to eat on Thanksgiving. Especially if they could have dinner with family. We went to my sister Camille's house and ate. Luckily Camille has a pretty large house to accommodate all that came. There ended up being 15 adults, 2 teenagers, and 5 kids.

My dad ended up sitting at the kid table with Logan, Jayden, and Colton.

Emily sat at the adult table in the high chair and Conner wanted to sit by Matt. The dinner was very good and of course filling. After dinner some of us played Rock Band and some others left and didn't play Wii. We had a good time visiting with family.
Thanks to Camille for letting us have dinner at your house.

Catch Up!!

Camille has kinda been asking me if I was going to read the Twilight Series or not. So in December I started to read it. It took me a month to finish the series only because I had a hard time getting into Twilight. But once I got to a exciting part in Twilight I could not put the rest of books down. I finished most of the books in less than a week each with the exception of Twilight.
So needless to say my blog has been neglected. So I decided I would try to catch up on my post within the next few days. I thought I would go back and catch up on the holidays and a few others. So there is more to come and I am hoping to keep caught up on it. So keep checking back on me.

Our memorable trip to Los Angeles!!

Bryce and I went to Los Angeles, California last week. We were there for just over 1 day. It was a rather short trip, but it was nice to get away with just the two of us. We haven't had a trip alone since our honeymoon.

We landed in L.A. at 6 pm and by the time we got our rental car and got checked into our hotel I think it was about 8 pm. Our first night we had to stay in this dump of a motel because the hot water at the motel that was booked for us didn't work, I think it was the boiler or something. It reminded me of one of those motels in the movies that they stay in, and they are worried that they are going to get caught for some reason or another. It made me wonder like in the movies if the mirrors were really mirrors, and if there was a whole in the wall were someone was watching. It was very first class!! The second night we were able to get back to the hotel that we were booked in, it was much better and Bryce's feed didn't hang off the end of the bed at this hotel!
This was the first hotel that we had to stay in. When was the last time you stayed in a motel that you actually had a real key to open the door?

Our last night was much better! This hotel did not stink either. That was a real improvement.

The weather the following day was about 70°-75° and very nice. Bryce was in shorts and a t-shirt, and I was in pants and a jacket because there was a slight breeze. All in all the weather was really nice compared to home. That day we went to the Santa Monica Pier, Hollywood Blvd, and to the Los Angeles temple.

The first place we went that day was to Santa Monica Boulevard. We were going to go shopping there. I was wanting to go to like a outlet or something that was cheaper priced. But we didn't find any of that the short time we were there. So we walked around and found the Santa Monica Pier. At the beach we took a few pictures in the sand, after I saw someone elses name in the sand I told Bryce that we should write the kid's names in the sand and take a picture. Instead Bryce wrote our names in the sand. The ocean was a little cold, there was one guy riding the waves on the shore, but he was in a wet suit. We played on the beach for a while until we decided to go to Hollywood Boulevard.

(left: Bryce wearing a visor that he saw at one of the shops on the Santa Monica Pier. We probably would have got it if it wouldn't have been $30.00.
right: Bryce and I on the Santa Monica Pier, I know Bryce has a red dot on his forehead but it is the only picture of us together on the whole trip.)
Bryce wrote our names in the sand:)

At Hollywood Boulevard we saw a few of the stars. Bryce laughed at me that of all the stars I took a picture of Kermit the Frogs. We really didn't have a lot of time to walk down Hollywood Blvd. though. On our walk there were people dressed up in costumes and they wanted you to take your picture with them, then after the picture was taken they asked for a tip. So Bryce and I ended up getting our picture with Elmo! We found a shop that had t-shirts 3 for $10 for the kids. So I got them another shirt. After that we decided we should get going so we could make it to dinner and a session at the L.A. Temple.
Bryce and I got our picture taken with Elmo on Hollywood Blvd. Here is my picture of Kermit the Frog's star!

The L.A. temple was decorated with Christmas lights and was very pretty. There was a nativity that the donkey looked so real, you could see every hair line on it. It was very pretty. It was strange to see the palm trees decorated with Christmas lights. There wasn't very many pine trees around. Bryce and I attended a session at the L.A. temple. When we were sitting waiting for the session to start, one of the temple workers came by and made the comment that "it was going to be a big session". There was I think 8 women at that time. To me it seemed like a small session compared to the Idaho Falls Temple. I had a really nice time at the temple.

The Temple grounds were very pretty and the pictures just don't do justice as being there in person.

The following morning we had to get up at 3 am so we could get showered and return our rental car, and then get shuttled to the airport. It made for a long day and I was trying so hard to not fall asleep on the way home from Utah so I could keep Bryce company because I was sure that he too was probably as tired as I was.

It was nice to be where it was warm but it just didn't feel like Christmas without snow.
